Johannesburg, 19 March 2008. South African Express celebrates its 14th birthday by increasing capacity on strategic routes. South African Express' new and improved schedule will be effective 1 April 2008. On 24 April 2008 South African Express celebrates its 14th year in business. The rapidly growing airline, which recently became a State-Owned Entity (SOE), celebrates by adding capacity on strategic routes. Says Siza Mzimela, CEO of South African Express: "As we grow another year older, we maintain our vision to be the most successful regional airline in Southern Africa. Adding capacity on routes such as Bloemfontein, Richards Bay, Kimberley and Gaborone highlights our sustained growth as an airline." By altering the aircraft type on the Johannesburg - Bloemfontein route, an additional 72 seats, 16% increase in capacity, will now be available to South African Express passengers. An additional rotation on the Johannesburg - Kimberley route has resulted in a 20% increase in capacity for our passengers. This means 50 more seats are available on this route. South African Express has added 25% capacity on the Johannesburg - Richards Bay route as well as the Johannesburg - Gaborone route. 50 additional seats are now available as a result of the additional frequency. Although capacity has been reduced on the seasonal Johannesburg - George route, additional capacity is planned for weekends effective 1 May 2008. These weekend dates will be advised. South African Express passengers can anticipate more good news as capacity growth is planned for coastal operations from 1 June 2008. |
