South African Express offers e-ticketing on all its domestic routes. Electronic ticketing provides customer benefits including improved security (ticket cannot be lost or stolen) and greater convenience (passenger never have to collect tickets whilst changes are easier to make). An electronic ticket may be booked via a travel agent or by logging on to our website, www.flysax.com (where you also gain access to our lowest fares) or by phoning our call center (0861 606 606) or visiting one of our ticket stations. Once you have made your reservation, you may proceed directly to check-in on the day of your trip, quote your reference number and provide a positive form of identification in order to receive your boarding pass. Check-in / Boarding TimesThe passenger shall arrive at the South African Express check-in location and boarding gate sufficiently in advance of flight departure to permit completion of any government formalities and departure procedures and, in any event, not later than the time indicated by the Carrier. If the passenger fails to arrive on time at check-in location or appears improperly documented and not ready to travel, the Carrier may cancel the space reserved for the passenger and will not delay the flight. Failure to comply with any of the above provisions may result in the passenger being denied during check-in. Transit passengers can utilise the transit area provided that they hold confirmed onward tickets. The Transit Hotel in Johannesburg must be confirmed in advance should the transfer not be on the same day. Transit visas should be obtained if necessary. Passports of all non-residents must contain at least 1 unused visa page for entry/departure endorsements. Security Notice In terms of International Civil Aviation Security Regulations, firearms, knives, sharp objects and or any items that may be construed as a dangerous item, whether of metal or other material, and some sporting goods must be packed in checked baggage, they cannot be carried in the cabin baggage or on person. These items include (but are not limited to) knives and knife-like objects, box cutters, corkscrews with blades, straight razor, long metal nail files, scissors with pointed tips, dangerous good (hazardous materials unless approved), tradesmen’s tools, hypodermic needles (unless required for medical reasons), knitting needles, other sharp pointed/ penetrating objects and sporting goods such as bats, bows, and arrows, cues, darts, golf clubs and sling shots (catapults), material art devices, real /toy/replica weapons (whether or plastic or metal). Most items listed may be carried in your checked baggage, subjected to Dangerous Goods Regulations. Firearms, sporting weapons and or declares security items of high value may be tendered to the appropriate firearm handling counters for safe handling. Any of these items not declared to the airline or identified to cabin baggage at the security screening points will be confiscated and not returned. South African Express has no liability what so ever regarding the loss of the above mentioned articles. Passengers requiring the use of medical syringes in flight, such as diabetic and other passengers with documented proof of medical need must ensure that it is professionally packed and labelled.
